Finally....Its May!

I started taking duphaston on 16 April to induce AF and was scheduled to see Dr B on 30 April where AF is supposed to come and 1st scan for the IVF cycle....

As I have been diligently taking BBT, I see there was a sudden spike in my chart on 21 April and it continued to rise. Thinking that it could be due to duphaston, I did not really take notice of it.

I started to spot on 29 April but no AF yet.. I began to worried. On the appt day, 30 April, nurse asked me if my AF has arrived, I told her no, just spotting.  Nurse also felt quite puzzled as it was quite unlikely for AF not to come when on duphaston.

Soon Dr B came into the room and greeted me Good Morning with a cheerful tone....=) When he was scanning, he say " there is a cyst on the right side" and he start measuring the size. I began to worried and ask what I should do. Then he say, no worries, lets see if the cyst will go away when AF come and I was scheduled to come again 2 days later.

2 days later....................

Nurse asked again if my AF has arrived and I say no and spotting was gone too. Prof scanned and say that the cyst is still there and it may be a corpus luteum since my BBT is still staying high even after I stop Duphaston and he ordered a HCG test... Oh my.. I was so nervous..... Will I be lucky this time??... and of cos... the answer is NO.... the test was negative.

Soon AF visited me and I was then asked to start Nor-e on CD 18 of the next cycle. This is a new protocol used by Dr B where his IVF patient will be put on Nor-e on cd 18 for 10 -13 days and start stimulation jab 5 days after off pill. Nor-e is supposed to suppress the hormones so that the follicles growing during stimulation will be of almost the same size for ER.

Dr B and Nurse both stressed that from this cycle onwards, all baby dancing must be with RUBBER...!

Group Chat With a Group of Wonderful Sistas

In March, one of the sista in the FB support group, E decide to start a group chat and invited us to join. The group chat consist of E, W, J, H, L and me...

I am so glad to have you all sistas. For the past 3 months, you all have been great companion during my up and low times... Thanks for all the support and encouragement and hope all of us will have our miracle baby in our arms soon.....Like what we always say, soon one day we will be exchanging where to buy bb things and pushing bb prams out for meet up.

Lets work hard towards the goal together.. Jiayou Ladies.....!!!

My IVF Journey

From my post title, it meant that my last SOIUI cycle had failed too.

After the failed cycle, I decided to proceed with IVF without hesitation but I cant stay with Dr F cos doing IVF in a private hospital do not entitle me to government grant. Doing IVF is really an expensive process, therefore having not choice, I decide to do come research on different government hospital; KKH, NUH, SGH...

After reading reviews from sistas in the forum, I decided to entrust my IVF journey to Dr Bowtie (Dr B). I make an appointment to see him just after CNY on 16th February.

Dr B begin with asking question about my history, did some checks (his famous "nn" checks that all sistas are talking about..haha) and ordered some blood works for me and Hubby. I told Dr B that I would want to start my cycle in May and he felt that May is good as it give ample time to see him again to review on the BT results and to attend his seminar and counselling session.

Dr B look very stern on my first visit. Maybe all Pro... look like that? hmmmm.. quite stress.. din really ask much question.

Oh ya.. why I call him Dr Bowtie? Cos he is always wearing a "cutie" bowtie. keke....

Lil R FB Support Group

Not forgetting to mention, during my SOIUI cycles, a sista from SMH forum,WT decided to start a FB group call Lil R for all ttc ladies to support each other. It was a wonderful support group where we shared our journey and during the really emo and down days, the sistas were very encouraging and supportive. This is something our Hubbies can't give us at times as there are certain things only ladies will understand I think...... **hmmm.. was it they dun understand or they never make effort to understand? haha

The group started with less than 10 members and grew to a good 50 members today. And of cos we have some sistas who had graduated and spread their bb dusts to all the sistas in the group... Congrats and Thanks Sista. Really hope that your bb dusts will give lotsa bb lucks to all the sistas in the FB group.

3rd Cycle of SOIUI

I did not give up after my failed 2nd SOIUI cycle and Dr F allowed me to start my 3rd cycle immediately but this round on 75iu of gonal f. He suggested to try gonal f to see if there will be some miracles.

I went for my scan on day 8 and to my disappointment, there was no growing follicle and I had to abort the cycle as Dr F informed that even we were to increase the dosage, the egg quality will not be good. I went home and cried till my eyes were swollen. I feel that this news was much worse than getting BFN for the last 2 cycles as I was not given a chance to try at all this round after all the painful injections.

AF came rather quick this month on CD 16 and Dr F say that it is normal as there was no follicles/ ovulation and lining decide to shed early.

I then decided to start my final round of SOIUI before I embark into my IVF Journey.

2nd Cycle of SOIUI Cycle

Start my 2nd SOIUI cycle on 75iu puregon again. Same was scheduled to scan on day 7 again. This cycle I only have 2 follicles; 1 on each side. But it was growing fast. 19mm & 16.5mm. Dr F order a trigger immediately by his nurse and my IUI was scheduled the next day at 5pm. ( 32 hours after the trigger).

As it was too last minute, I could not take leave and told my boss that that I have to leave work 2 hours earlier. Lucky boss was okie and allowed me to leave. But poor Hubby, he has to go produce his troop alone then rushed to pick me from office. IUI went on smoothly but the 2ww was not smooth at all. I began to bleed on 3dpiui. Call Dr F and was asked to go down to the clinic immediately for progesterone jab.. Ouch! I hate this jab.....Luckily the bleeding stop in the night after the jab.

On 9dpiui, I started to bleed again and I had to go for any jab. I was not very hopeful this cycle and true enough AF came 4 days later.

Back on my TTC Journey again

When I see Dr F, he say.. "Hello mdm, long time no see.. how are you? any good news for me?" I was like *sigh* "Bad news.. AF jammed again"

Dr F was very nice, he asked about my condition for the past 1 and half years and decide that we should do SOIUI again with a lower dosage to prevent too many follicles growing again.

I was put on 75iu puregon. Scanned on day 7 and I have 3 beautiful follicles. 2 on the right and 1 on the left. 13.5mm, 13.6mm and 13.8mm. Was asked to scan 2 days later and all the follicles had grown to 16 plus mm and was asked to go to GP for trigger jab that evening. IUI was scheduled 40 hours later. I was put on utrogestan pill for support. 3 times a day. The afternoon dose was terrible cos I will feel so tired and sleepy after the pill and will need to nap for at least half an hour. I had to avoid going lunch with my lunch kakis so that i can have my lunch in office, take pill and nap for a while. Hubby was nice, he try to come pick me up for lunch a quick lunch  on some days so that I can nap after he send me back to office.

Everyday passed by quickly and soon it was near to the ending of tww. I was very hopeful this cycle even Hubby say I looked different.

But.. just when i was thinking when I should poas, Aunty Flow decided to visit me on 12dpo. I was so sad but I told Hubby that I will not get up and arranged to see Dr F again.

Dr F suggested that I go for another cycle of 75iu puregon.

Taking TTC Easy

After the failed IVF, I decided to take ttc easy cos always hear story of ppl get BFP when they decided to give up on ttc and stay cool and relax.. So I thought maybe that will work for me too.

But... no... my AF started to get delayed real long again that I have to get AF induce med from GP but still I just hope that I can get positive naturally. I started to order Vitex online, buy evening primose oil and vitamins to take. However, after taking for 1 month, i began to get lazy and stop taking as I see no result from it.. Ya I know.. they are not "xian dan" where got so fast right...

During this period of time, I also decided to change job to a more work life balance environment unlike the hectic working environment that I was in. The new job was good and I was able to go home on time almost everyday.

After on the new job for about a year, TTC came back on my mind again and I decide to make an appointment to see Dr F.

SOIUI Converted to IVF

Dr F put me on 100iu of puregon and was scheduled to scan on day 8. While Dr F was scanning, he was like "oh.. so many follicles". After finish saying the numbers to the nurse, Dr F say " okie.. don't worry, lets discuss."

Dr F give me 2 options. To abort the cycle or to convert to IVF as there is too many follicles to proceed with IUI which may result in multiple + multiple birth. Dr F asked me to discuss with hubby first before deciding and reply him by noon.

Had a long discussion with Hubby. Although Hubby did discouraged a bit but I insisted as I wan to get preggy so badly.

Proceed with IVF.. ER 10 or 11 follicles, 5 fertilised and only 2 below average embbies left to transfer. I ask embryologist why was it like that and she explained that the egg and sperm quality were bad. Still proceed with the ET though.

On the night of ET, I started to feel very uncomfortable and very bloated. Started to vomit in the middle of the night. The next day I call the Dr F's nurse and Dr F ask me down for an anti-vomiting injection and gave me some med to relieve the bloat.  The anti-vomiting works for a few hours and soon I was vomiting again. My hubby then call the emergency no. at 12am to reach Dr F who then ask me to go down to the hospital immediately.

I was diagnose with OHSS and put on drip and was hospitalised for 4 long days which was terrible. The tummy get bigger and bigger from the bloat which make it so uncomfortable to lie down to sleep.

OHSS is so scary.........

My tww was not all fun and relaxing.. I have to go for progesterone blood test every 2 days and all end up with low level with a painful support jab on the buttocks..

After going through so much...... it was still a BFN....

Was devastated and decide to take ttc easy........

Some Introduction about Miraclez's Journey

Have been ttc since I got married.. 1 yr..2 yrs...3yrs....this is my 4th year. I have been diagnosed with PCOS way before I got married and knew that getting pregnant will not be easy... but never expect it to be so difficult.

Like many of the Sistas, tried naturally with TCM but it didn't help before I turned to the help of a fertility specialist, Dr F about 6 months later.

Same, Dr F also diagnosed me with PCOS and DH's sperm was found to be of bad quality. Therefore, Dr F suggest we try Clomid + IUI. If I never remember wrongly, I was on 100mg of clomid for 5 days. Scan was scheduled on day 12 and there was a nice growing follicle. Proceed with HCG trigger few days later at a 24 hrs clinic and IUI was followed about 40 hours later. The procedure was okie.. but the part to "ren" the pee was horrible. I rushed to the toilet as soon as the nurse allowed me to.

Happily in my 2ww.. still green to ttc and thought BFP should be more or less guarantee.. and of cos I was hit with a great disappointment...

Never give, Dr F gave me another round of Clomid. 100mg.. however, day 12 scan show no follicle growth.. Disappointment again.. But Dr F was a nice guy... encouraged me and say " no worries, we have other methods" and this is when he introduced me to SOIUI. OMG... self injection.....
